Staff

The clinic has a permanent staff of eight but often we have the assistance of pro bono law students, volunteer lawyers,  administrative volunteers,  pro bono articling students, summer students, legal internships and contract staff.

Arlene Brazeau is a licensed paralegal.  She has been with the clinic since 1980.  She now works on the Intake team and has great experience in landlord and tenant law.  She has good fluency in American Sign Language.   As of September 2010 she will be working reduced hours mainly doing intake work.

Christine Da Costa Antunes is a staff lawyer specializing in income assistance law.  She articled with our clinic in the early 1990’s and  joined our staff permanently in 1966.  She recently completed her teacher training and works on a half time basis at the clinic.

Monica Franklin is on contract as our staff lawyer in charge of the Income Assistance team.  She has a lengthy career as a lawyer with another legal clinic prior to joining our clinic in 2009.  She also has experience in immigration law.

Nicole Guthrie joined our staff as of October 2011 as a contract staff lawyer.  Nicole was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada on September 21, 2011.  Prior to that time she had been working for us as a legal assistant.  She is also a member of the Bar for New York State, USA.

Marjorie Hiley is our Executive Director.  She has been our ED since 1984.  She does mainly immigration law  and some social assistance law.

Dina Kalayjian is our Office Manager.  She has been with our clinic since 2007. Prior to that time she worked in administration with another legal clinic.  She speaks a number of languages including Arabic and French.

Catherine Manson is a licensed  paralegal.  She has been with the clinic since 1988, starting originally as a support worker and finally becoming a community legal worker in 1995.  She does mainly intake  with an emphasis on income assistance law. As well she is very active with community development work in the income assistance area.

Brook Physick is a licensed paralegal.  He was the first employee of the clinic, joining in December 1979.  He deals mainly with landlord and tenant matters and is active with community development projects and public legal education dealing with tenants rights.

Anna Rosenbluth is on contract as our staff lawyer in charge of the housing team.  She started at the clinic in late June 2010.  She had previous experience doing a variety of legal matters at another Toronto based legal clinic

Doug Wilkins is a staff lawyer on contract with the clinic since August 2009.  He does mainly social assistance law.  He had worked with another legal clinic where he got experience in landlord and tenant law.
